These are our favorite places to find kids penpal ads. But then we go looking for interesting penpal ads, we don't just place one ad then sit back and wait. One ad on a busy site may be all you need. Just remember that if you can't write an intersting ad, people will assume you can't write an interesting letter either. All sites below show the date the ad was placed.

You have to send your first e-mail through the site, but you don't need to register. Some of the ads only offer on-site messages (the site emails notification that there is a message waiting), not e-mail (mostly very young kids), and you need to register and create an ad for that. Lots of young kids there, penpals without emails, good source for families. Too many ads don't have useful comments. It's still our favorite, by a wide margin. They switched to being a Facebook look-alike (a bad thing, I think) where you have to place an ad to view profiles or send messages, have to publish your photo to attract any interest, and then you have to send these tiny little notes to people until you find someone who actually knows what a real penpal is. If you do want to try the whole "social networking" thing, this is a good place to do it. I have met several great people on InterPals. It's just not a pure penpal-ad website.
